CSEA’s Western Region covers 14 Western New York counties, supporting workers in more than 80 locals and 220 units in state government, local government, school districts, library systems, public authorities and the private sector. The region has approximately 46,000 members.
Region 9 covers western and central New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Region 9 members work in automotive, aerospace and steel industries, and include members at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Members make doors, quarter panels, hoods, fenders and other stamped parts for automobiles and members also build the V-22 Osprey troop transport helicopter and the Chinook medium-lift helicopter at the Boeing facility in Philadelphia.
IUPAT proudly represents and fights for 140,000 workers in the finishing trades across the United States and Canada. We represent dozens of trades, primarily industrial painters, commercial and decorative painters, drywall finishers, glaziers and glass workers, sign and display workers, trade show workers, floor covering installers, and many more successful careers in the construction industry and public sector.
District Council #4 represents a growing force of 2,000 active and retired men and women in 33 counties of Western and Central New York. Our members work in the finishing trades as industrial and commercial painters, drywall finishers, wall coverers, glaziers, glassworkers, billboard posters, healthcare workers, newspress workers and service delivery groups, along with many more exciting occupations. District Council #4 membership extends beyond the workplace.
CWA is a labor union where working people join together to strengthen our voice in our jobs and communities.
We work not just in the communications and information industries, but also in the news media, the airlines, broadcast and cable television, public service, higher education and health care, manufacturing, in high tech and more. The majority of CWA members in Western New York are healthcare workers.
